1439 - IST PRINTING PRESS
When the printing press was invented this allowed for a mass production of documents to be produced. This allowed ideas to spread to other people, but at this stage in history the vast majority of people could not read. -
1665 - PEOPLE PUBLISHING JURNALS
When people started to produce jurnals, this allowed ideas to be shared about science and technology to leap forward, but still only a couple of people could read. This meant that only people such as scientiest and priests could read these jurnals. -
1731 - MAGAZINES
The invention of magazines allowed the monthly printings general interests. This shows that more people are able to read. -
1788 - NEWSPAPERS
Newspapers are now being able to print daily. This allows events to speed up evenets. Allowing the public to rea about what happened yesterday today! This has also created a new job, the reporter! -
1876 - TELEPHONE
The invention of the telephone people can communicate in "real time" over a long distance used in the buisness world, for shipping across the atlantic. -
1912 - HOME TELEPHONE
The home telephone allowed the public to be able to communicate, for those few that could afford the heafty fee! -
1931 -BBC RADIO
BBC Radio, when invented allowed the goverment to broadcast . It was the first type of mass media that had been invented. It was able to be broadcast staright into peoples homes. This one of the tencequies Hitler used to propaganda! -
1936 - TV IN THE UK
Powerful imindate, that is able to shape options. It also created jobs such a TV news reporters, Not many people culd effford the black and white television, unlike the 24 million televisons working in the UK at the moment. -
1962 - INTERNET
The internet was invented by the US Military, so that they could still communicate if one base was destroyed.. -
1984 - CABLE
Cable makes TV widley avalible in the UK. It allows the FDR transmission of hundereds of channels and it also lays out the groundwork for broadband. -
1985 - FIRST MOBILE PHONE
The first genertion of mobiles cost around £2000 in todays moeny, and tended to be used for buisness reasons. Having a 3 hour charging time, this allowed for 30 minutes of conversations. -
1990 - SATALITE (SKY)
Satalite televsion is a very hiteck invention. It allows for even more channels. It now allows for live and direct feeds from the scene of the event/ wars. There are currently 10 million people in the UK alone that have subscribed to cable television. Its made it commercial. -
1992 - FIRST TEXT MESSAGE SENT
It is currently the most popular form of communication used in the UK, having 1 Billions tects sent every week from England alone. -
1993 - WORLD WIDE WED (WWW)
WEB 1.0 - used more or less to reserch information and to buy things -
2001 - 3G MOBILE
This allowed us to send photo and video tects to other people. This has allowed freedom and so that in the current climate anyone can be a reporter, but this is for good but also for bad. -
2002 - WEB 2.0
By now the interest was being used on a much wider scale, and is now more about social networking, like facebook, bebo and myspace. -
2009 - 4G
4G on mobiles allows high speed internt -
2011 - WEB 3.0
The internet is now a tool used by most people to arrange and contact friends. You can now store things electroniclly by a progamme called cloud.
