  • Will Trainer hit by a taxi and seriously injured

    Had a “perfect” life, everything now changed.

  • Louisa Clark (Lou) loses her job at The Buttered Bun tea shop

  • Will tries to take his life

  • Will's mom promises to take him to an assisted suicide facility in 6 months if he hasn't changed his mind by then

  • Lou employed to company Will

    He doesn´t like or "need" it.

  • Will's ex-girlfriend and his best friend got married.

    2 weeks after her employment. The girlfriend he had while he was hit.

  • Lou´s boyfriend wants to go to Norway

    Do not prioritize her and her wishes, not sure she really loves him.

  • Lou learns that he plans to take his life in a Swiss suiside clinique

    Sees his selv harming, his pain and a get closer understanding of why he wants to take his life.

  • Becoming closer, and Will falls in love with Lou

    She also starts to get feelings for him.

  • Lou and Patric break up

    Lou feels lighter and can be more open towards Will.

  • Lou takes Will on a series of trips to show him that life is worth living

    Helps, but not enough to make him change his mind.

  • Final trip to Mauritius

    A small island near the coast of Africa, a paradise.

  • On the final night of their trip, Lou kisses Will and declares her love for him.

    He rejects her and says he will only give her pain and disappointment.

  • Will says he must tell her something, but she already knows what he is going to say - even though their time together has been special, it is not enough, and he is still going through with the plan

    He can not bear it any longer. It is hard for Lou. She never wanted him to go through with it, but now she loves him which makes it even harder.

  • Lou hurt and angry, and resides as caretaker

    But thinks about him all the time.

  • Will ends his life

    Asks Lou and his parents to stand by his side, which they do.

  • Lou inherit a small amount of money so she can go back to school and finish her education

    She quit because of a sexual assault that happened during high school.
