The Declaration of Independance was a very important event in U.S history, and can now be seen at the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom in Washington, DC. On July 4th 1776 the second continental congress meeting was held in Philadelphia and they made the Declaration of independance -

Benjamin Franklin invented the bifocal glasses. Benjamin had very bad eyesight, far and near, so he invented glasses that could help him see both ways with just one frame. The way bifocal glasses work is they have a lense to see far on top and a lense to see up close on the bottom -

The Wright Brothers invented the airplane from 1899- 1905. But on Dec. 17, 1903 the first successful flight was held. The flight only lasted for 12 seconds and only traveled 120 feet. It was still a very successful flight. -
Titanic Sinks
The "Unsinkable Ship" sank on April 14, 1912 as it crashed on an iceberg that seemed small but was way bigger than expected. With only 20 lifeboats not more than half of the people survived. -

And a Fourth plane crashed in an empty field in Pennsilvania. This caused men, woman, and children to die.
