    In the fall of 1920 Phoenix Junior College opened its doors becoming the first junior college in Phoenix Arizona.

    Phoenix Junior College receives formal NCA accreditation. This was a significant milestone which offered students the ability to transfer to other schools and retain their current educational credits.

    Dr. Myrna Harrison succeeds Dr. Bill Berry as the first woman to be named president of phoenix college. She was also the president of several other community colleges in the valley and was a practicing artist.
