Geting on the Boat

At Cape Sheridan
On Sepember 5 the Rooseselt arived at Cape Sherdian and Matt begain training new men in the art of survive. -
Ready to go to Cape Sherdian
During this month everyone was ready to go to the North pole.Every man took one posesion.Matt took his bible. -
Geting Ready
Bartlett and Borup left today to pioneer the trails to make sure everything was okay. -
Travling
Matt and Peary followed Bartlett and Borup to the Big Lead. -
Finding Bartlett
Matt and Peary at the Big Lead. -
Waiting
Still waiting on the Big Lead to freeze.Matt saw a "crimson sphere, just balanced on the brige of the world. -
Finally Frozen
On a calm day at -45 the Big Lead was frozen and everybody huried across. -
Turning Back
Ross Marvin turned to go back,he congratulated Matt for going on then he wished him luck. -
On a Pieace of Ice
Bartlett left as pioneer.Later Henson and Peary caught up with him at a wide lead the ice crack and he Eskimos,Dogs,and Bartlett were on a wide pieace of ice .Bartlett and his Eskimos and Dogs jump to safty. -
Bartlett Turning Back
Bartlett had to go back, he was very disapointed bacause he wasn't the only one to go with Peary to the Pole.Peary and Matt repared sleges and rested all day. -
Marvluse Sight
Peary and Henson marched for ten hours.That night Matt saw a marvluse sight the full moon and the sun in the sky opisite of each other. -
Broke Threw
When they came to one of the leads it was covered in thin ice when Matt drove across the runners broke threw. -
Calculating
Matt calculated they were 100 miles from Bartlett went back.Peary observed that they only had 35 miles to go. -
There
Peary made more observations.Peary also took a picture of matt holding the us flag. -
Going Back
Now Matt and Peary had to get home,it took them 17 days to get to Cape Colimbia.
