  • The Indian Act is Repealed

    The Indian Act is Repealed
7/10 I think this event is a 7/10 because it showed that an aboriginal person could have a voice and did it effectively. Because of her, she managed to get rid of a law that was not fair to all native people. Image from canada.ca
  • The Oka Crisis

    The Oka Crisis
5/10 I give this a 5/10 because the Oka Crisis did help native people find their voice and get what they wanted however it was not done without violence. Image from The Canadian Encyclopedia
  • Meech Lake Accord

    Meech Lake Accord
8/10 I would give this an 8/10 because the Cree member did not accept the revisions because it was trying to reduce Aboriginal rights, they had to redo it and it saved a lot of people from suffering. Image from CBC
  • Stoney Point & Kettle First Nations

Stoney Point & Kettle First Nations
3/10 I gave this a 3/10 because they rightly wanted the land that was taken from them during the war back however the government would not budge on giving it back and so it escalated and someone got killed over it. They didn't get it back until 2007. Image from labrc.com
  • Relationship Between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous people

Relationship Between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous people
7/10 Overall, I would rank this a 7/10 because it created a plan to help keep indigenous values and culture while keeping a good relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. Image from publications.gc.ca
  • Land Claim

    Land Claim
6/10 This event didn't necessarily offer any proof that they have/had a voice. I gave this a 6 because they received what they always deserved and many of them have asked for for many years. Image from gc.ca
  • Creation of Nunavut

    Creation of Nunavut
6/10 The creation of Nunavut was an amazing thing because it allowed Inuit people to pretty much govern over themselves.
  • Prevent Housing

    Prevent Housing
6/10 I would give this event a 6/10 because they did get what they wanted but it required force to get it. Imaage From ctvnews.ca
  • New Safe and Comfy School

    New Safe and Comfy School

  • The UN Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

8/10 I give this an 8/10 because it gave people from indigenous origins more freedom.
  • Idle No More

    Idle No More
6/10 I would give the Idle No More movement a 6/10 because while what they're doing is helping to give indigenous people a louder voice however, I personally have not heard of it before this activity which I feel like isn't a good thing so their work isn't producing great results. Also on their social medias, there isn't much engagement with their posts which also isn't a good thing. Image from idlenomore.ca
  • The 94 Recommendations

    The 94 Recommendations
8/10 This event was a great victory for those who've survived and the families of those who didn't survive the atrocities that happened at residential schools. These 94 recommendations helped provide better lives for all Indigenous people. Image from [achh.ca]
