Exposition 3-CHARACTERS
The characters in this book are Abby Carson, Sadeed Byat, and Amira Byat. Abby is writing to a little girl Amira in Kabul. However Sadeed helps her because she is not good at english. -
Exposition 1-BACKGROUND
Abby’s grades are really bad and the only way for her to pass sixth grade is for her to find a pen pal. She picks the pen pal to be from Kabul, Afghanistan. -
Exposition 2-SETTING
This story has two main settings in this book and, they are Kabul, Afghanistan, and Linsdale, Ohio. Abby lives in Linsdale Ohio and Sadeed lives in Kabul Afghanistan. -
Rising Action 1- CONFLICT
Abby has not been doing her classwork or homework. Her gredes are terrible and she is getting c's, d's, and e's. -
Rising Action 2
Abby is in the middle of gym when a person who works in the office hands her a note. The note informs her that she might have to repeat grade 6, unless she gets an 85% or ahigher on every assignment and she must do an extra credit assignment. -
Rising Action 3
Abby is notifyed by her teacher that she must bring her grades up or she has to repeat sixth grade. She also says she needs to pick a pen pal. Abby picks a pen pal in Kabul. -
Rising Action 4
In the moutains of Kabul Sadeed eavsddrops on his father and teacher. He learnsabout Abby and how she will be writing to his sister Amira, but he will need to help her. -
Rising Action 5
Abby first sends a letter to Sadeed and he helps Amira write back to Abby. -
Rising Action 6
Abby and Sadeed keep exchanging notes. Both kids still can't get their minds off of the letters. -
CLIMAX
Sadeed breaks his father and teachers rules by letting Abby know he was doing all of the writing in the letters. -
Falling Acrtion 1
Sadeed is pulledover by a man and has a letter written by Abby wripped to shreds. This was because he saw the american flag. -
Falling Action 2
After the incident Sadeed encountered, his teacher thought the note writing should end. His dad also agreed with this. -
Falling Action 3
Sadeed and Amira put back the pieces of the letter and envelope that Abby sent. This was the same envelope that the stranger ripped to shreds. -
Falling Action 4
Abby is about to put the letter on the bulletien board when she notices the Afghan flag was taken down.Apparently, a student in the class feels uncomfortable with the flag because of all of the war in parts of Afghanistan. -
Resolution 1
Abby got a letter saying she couldn't write to Kabul anymore.So, she finally presented the project to the class -
Resolution 2
On the last day of school Abby got a letter from Sadeed that said he was inspired to climb rocks from her. He also said he did go rock climbing and he enjoyed writing to her.
