Matt Ryan: Draft Day
Matt Ryan was drafted 3rd overall by the Atlanta Falcons. Before that, he attended Boston College Univeristy, where he earned honors of being the ACC Player of the Year and being on the First Team All-American. -
Matt Ryan's first game
In his first NFL game, Matt Ryan completed his first pass to Michael Jenkins, which then turned into a 62 yd. touchdown. He was the first to do this since 2000. Ryan then led the Falcons to a win over the Detroit Lions. -
Rookie of the Year
Matt Ryan was named Rookie of the Year at the end of the 2008 season. He finished the season with 3,440 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Ryan recieved these honors along with fellow rookie quarterback Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens. -
Matty Ice's First Playoff Game
Matt Ryan's frst playoff game came against the Arizona Cardinals. In the game, Ryan threw 26 for 40, for 199 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Falcons, however, lost that game 30-24. -
First Game of 2009
In Matt's first game of the 2009 season, he threw for 229 yds, along with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Atlanta won the game 19-7 over the Miami Dolphins. -
2010 Finale
In the final game of the 2009 season, the Atlanta Falcons beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-10. Ryan had 2,916 yds, 22 TDS, and 14 ints. The Falcons finished 9-7 and failed to make the playoffs. -
2010 Playoffs
Matt Ryan led the Falcons to a first round bye, and a game against the Green Bay Packers. The game ended with a 48-21 drubbing of Atlanta. Ryan finished the season with 3,705 yds, 28 TDS, and only 9 interceptions.
