Education Butler Act
This act provided free secondary education for all students, -
School Milk Act
One third pint of milk was issued to all students under the age of eighteen. -
Education Act
Granted transfers at ages other than 11. -
Free school milk was stopped
The conservative goverment stopped the giving of free school milk as well as increasing prices for school meals. This was a very infamous cut. -
Leaving school age raised
The age of leaving achool was raised from 15 to 16. Although the preperations began in 1964 they took effect in 1972. -
The Warnock Report
Raised the idea that children with special needs and disabilities should not put in isolated schools but rather that they should go to chools with everyone else. -
Cockroft Report
Cockrofts report maths matters raised importantant issues with mathematics education and the reasons for needing it. -
The Swann Report
The report written by Swann raised the point that education should be for all children, from different backgrounds and ethnicities in order to help create a multicultural society. -
Education Reform Act
National curriculum was brought into schools in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in order to maintain a standard of education all students were expected to be taught. This also set a structure of tests and league tables. -
Education Act
This act identified the need to have the specified help for children with special needs, the issues in this act mainly stemmed from the Warnock report. -

This act led to local authorities being opened that would work with for example children with special needs. -
Education (student loans) Act
This act extended the provision of student loans. -
Nursery Education and Grant-Maintained School Act
A voucher scheme was introduced for nursery education and allowed governers of grant maintained schools to borrow money.(This was later withdrawn by labour as it was unsuccessful) -
Education Act 1997
Abolished vocational courses and replaced them with qualifications and curriculum authority. -
White Paper
The goverment began encouraging schools to become 'specialist' schools. My secondary school was also a science specialist school. -
Education Act 1998
Student loans went back to being given by private sectors. -
Teacher and Higher Education Act
HM inspectors duties extended to teacher training and in-service courses, also provide students with grants and loans where well needed. -
Started Primary School
I started going to mt primary school, St martin de Porres r/c school. I stayed here until I left for secondary. -
White Paper Schools
Worked toward achieving success by doing multiple things including give 85% of schools budgets to the headteachers to manage. Also worked to helping narrowing gaps of achievement between ethnic minorities, this obviously concerns me as i am of a ethnic minority. -
Education and Inspection Act
Schools classed as failing would be given a year to make tings better or they would be closed down and reopened as academies. When I started my course i did some taster sessions in Sandwell academy. -
Started Secondary School
I started at Swanshurst School which is an all girls school, it was very different to my primary school as it was not a religous school and is an all girls school. -
Education and Skills Act
Young people would now have to stay in full time education until they were 18, also key stage 3 tests were no longer compulsary. -
Child Poverty Act
Targets were set to eradicate any exsisting child poverty. -
University
I started Wolverhampton university studying Mathematics and Secondary Education.
