    Mary and Father Woods start a new religious order of nuns the sisters of St Joseph and Mary became the first nun when she was just 25 years old
  • EXCOMMUNICATED

    Mary accuses a priest of abuse but she was excommunicated for alleged insubordination
  • LET BACK IN CHURCH

    5 months after she is let back into the church from the bishop when he was dying
  • ROME

    Mary travels to rome and meets pope pius and obtained papal approval for her sisters. She also sought sign off on their rule of life as set down by father woods.
  • DIVIDE FOR RELATIONSHIP

    But this caused a divide between Mary and father woods and their relationship was never recovered
  • DEATH

    Mary had a stroke 7 years later she died in 1902 and was an invalid untill her death on August 8, 1909

    Mary Mackillop became a saint which was a great success in her life after she died in 1909
