At 18 mary took a job as a governess on her uncle's farm. -
OPENING THE FIRST SCHOOL
Mary and Fr Woods opened their first
Free Catholic School in Penola. -
SISTERS OF ST JOSEPH
Mary formed a new order of nuns - The Sisters Of Saint Joseph when she 25. -
EXCOMMUNICATED FROM THE CHURCH
Mary was excommunicated from the church. -
TRAVELLED TO ROME TO SEE THE POPE
Mary travelled to Rome for a personal
Audience with the Pope Pius lX and obtained papal approval for the sisterhood. -
MARY'S DEATH
Mary had a stroke and 7 years later she died at the age of 60. -
BEATIFIED
Mary was Beatified on the 19 of
January. -
CANONISED
Mary was Canonised and became a saint on the 17 of October.
