Mary was born to her parents Flora and Alexander. Flora gave birth to Mary in Melbourne. -

Mary met father Tenison woods in Penola. They both had the same dream to educate the poor which is why they started to work together. -

Mary and fr woods opened the first free catholic school in penola. This allowed children with not much money to be educated. This also led to many more free schools around Australia. -

Mary and fr woods founded the Sisters of Saint Joseph. Mary also became a sister at this time. -

Bishop lawrence was dying but ordered to restore mary into her order. -
EXCOMMUNICATION
Mary Mackillop was alleged of insubordination and excommunicated by bishop Laurence Sheil. This was a big change for her life because she had dedicated her life to the church. -
FREEDOM SEEKING
Mary travelled to rome to meet with the Pope. The pope told her that her organisation may make decisions by themselves. This caused an argument between fr tennison and her. They were never friends again. -
DEATH
Mary had a stroke and died. She died at the age of 60. -

Mary became the first and only saint of Australia.
