    Mary I of England, also known as Mary Tudor or Bloody Mary (because of the mass killings of Protestants orchestraded by her) was the Queen of England and Ireland from 1553 to 1558. She was known for her strong roman catholicism and for the English Reformation.
    Mary I was born on February 18, 1516.

    Childhood

    Mary Tudor was a really smart child.
    She studied French, Spanish, dance, music, and she could write and read Latin too!
    Her father Henry VIII loved her, but he was still disappointed by the fact that he and Catherine of Aragon had no male heirs to the throne.
    In 1525, at nine years old, she was sent to the border of Wales and was called "princess of Wales" even though she didn't officially have that title.

    During her adolescence, Mary was sent to another home due to the fact that her father, Henry VIII, married another woman named Anne Boleyn.
    She was also deemed illegitimate.

    On July 10 1553, Mary and her army gathered around Framlingham Castle against Queen Jane.
    Mary was arrested, but after Lady Jane deposed on July 19, she won and started her reign on August 3.

    Mary and her army gathered at Framlingham Castle against the queen, Jane, and Mary won.
    Between 1554 and 1556, Mary Tudor exiled, or, in the worst cases, executed a large number of Protestants.
    Because of the massacres, she earned the name "Bloody Mary.
    Mary Tudor started being sick (possibly because of uterine cancer/or ovarian cystys) and died on November 17, 1558.
