    Martin Luther was a monk in Germany. Luther heard that the Pope, and other priest where selling indulgences. They would give the civilians a certificates which claimed that their loved one reduce the temporal punishment for sins committed in purgatory. Luther then created a essay of 95 reason why this was a terrible thing to do, and how they were abusing there practice. Luther then nailed his papers to the door of All Saints' Church, Wittenberg, for all the towns people to see and read.
