Busses
After Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat King and several others called a meating. They used this meeting to urge African Americans to boycott the busses. This is important because the segregation rules were then ruled unfair. This was the first victory for African Americans.

SCLC
Around 60 African American ministers banned together to form Southern Christian Leadership Conference. King was elected the president. This is important because SCLC was one of the major civil rights groups.
