Clemens Family Moves
Mark Twain and his family moved to Hannibal, Missouri, his dad died 8 years later. He spent most of his childhood in his boyhood home, being surrounded by the instuition of slavery. -
Apprentice at Hannibal Courier newspaper
Twain apprenticed to Joseph Ament at the Hannibal Courier newspaper at the age of 12. When he was 15 he began to draw sketches and worked as a typesetter for the Hannibal Journal, owned by his older brother. -
