Marilyn had a rough and unstable childhood. She never met her father, and her mother was mentally unstable and unable to care for her. She lived in 11 foster homes throughout her childhood, Marilyn said she was being treated horribly in several of them and abused in atleast three of them. -
Marilyn had her first marriage at 16 to James Dougherty
Dougherty was 20 and Marilyn was 15 when they first started dating,in January 1942. They ended up getting married at the age of 16 because they wanted to go back to west virigina, and to do so Marilyn would have had to go to another foster home, so her foster mother suggested he'd marry her in order for them to live together. They ended there marriage in september 1946. -

Marilyn was working at The Radio Plane Company in Van Nuys, Californa and was soon discoverd by photographers. She enrolled in a three month modeling course after she was discovered by these photographers. -

January 14, 1954 they were married at San Fransisco City Hall.They had their honeymoon in japan, and Marilyn was asked to travel to Korea and perform for the American Soliders stationed there. Leaving her newly weded husband behind she went to Korea.They divorced October 1954 just 274 days after they were married. Monroe accused him of " Mental Cruelty" -

Marilyn acted in " The Seven Year Itch" that came out June 3, 1955. She casted with Tom Ewell, Evelyn Keyes, Helen Sherman etc. She was known as " The Girl" in this film, she was a main character. -

Marilyn meets Arthur Miller in hollywood. When miller heard when she was in town, he had a mutual friend arrange to reintroduce them. -
