BIRTH
She was born in 1867 in warsaw (Varsovia/POLONIA)
She lived there with her 4 older brothers, Marie was extremely attached to her sister zofia and they did everything together. -
SECRET STUDIES
When she was 9 years old she started attending a secret illegal school ( at the time it was illegal for girls to study so the ones that did it had to do it clandestinely) Her father was a physics and mathematics teacher at a university and he's probably the person that encouraged marie to study and increased her knowledge in topics such as chemistry,in which she became particularly interested -
DEATH OF ZOVIA
Her sister,zovia, died when marie was just 14 years old and due to this she had to deal with several problem such as depression. -
Move away to france
she traveled france to continue her studies in the university of mathematics. She lived with one of his brothers that supported her a lot while she was studing -
MARRIAGE
While she was studing she met Pierre Curie, another scientist. They fall in lopve and end up marring eachother in the year 1894 -
HER DISCOVERIES
with the help of her husband she developed and experiment in which she demostrated that radiation wasn't caused by the colllaps of the atoms, at that atoms had already radiation in his inside -
NOBEL AWARDS
It was the first person ever in the history to won two Nobel awards.
The first of them was with the help of his husband (1903) and the second one by itself (1905) was for the discovery of the poonion element of the periodic table. (that actually was named after maries hometown)
