After many years of battle between Maio Zedong's communist forces and the American backed Chinese Nationalist Chiang Kai-Shek, the United States and china both lost the largest nation in Asia to communism.

The Chinese enter the Korean War with combative counterattacks.
The Chinese entered the gruesome Korean War with hopes of driving the Allied forces back from North Korean territory on the 38th parallel, with a strong Chinese communist force not in the war, the Allied forces decided to keep their distance. The war expanding beyond territories where the United States were able to battle without nuclear warfare.

China starts their first "Five-Year Plan"
This "Five-Year Plan" for China was very successful, with the help of the experienced Russians, the Chinese Communist Party was able to achieve rapid succession in the industrial region as well as the other regions prioritized.

From Zedong requiring farmers to use poor agricultural techniques to inefficient food distribution throughout China, there were many causes that were irreparable and many that led to death. -

Mao faced increasingly worse criticism on his failed Great Leap Forward policy that caused unfair living conditions, irrational food distribution, and disastrous schemes on the Chinese civilians. Zedong blamed poor advice and bad decision making by other high up party members.

In hopes of showing his dominance and changing the communist route in the Chinese government, Zedong called upon all of the youth throughout China to make a turn around within the Chinese government and revert back to the ways that first started the People's Republic of China.

Mao Zedong's Red Guards take control of local governments.
Though this military group full of young individuals was only used for a short amount of time, their success rate was undeniably high. The People's Republic of China replaces Taiwan in the United Nations.
Seemingly that China was not fit to be in the United Nations at the time, Taiwan took the opportunity to inhabit China's spot in the UN for over twenty years, but now that is not the case. Taiwan is a province of China, and when China was recognized as on of the permanent members of the United Nations, Taiwans spot was removed and replaced by the People Republic of China. The Death of Mao Zedong.
Some may think that the death of Mao Zedong would be the best thing that has happened for China but in reality, it left it in shambles for the time being. When Zedong died, it left China with no real central authority and eventually led to the splitting up of the Chinese Gang of Four. Although Zedong had passed, the new chairman would make it a point to keep all of the ideologies that Mao Zedong had. -
