Nat Turner leads slave uprising in which 70 whites are killed; 100 blacks are killed in a search for Turner.
He made things worts becausec they made rules more scrict for slaves there were millon of people living there as not amerancans.

Oberlin College opens, the first co-educational college and the first to admit blacks.

A Presbyterian minister and a missionary founded Oberlin in 1833. Oberlin was the first college in America to adopt a policy to admit African American students.

Slavery is abolished in the British empire

Aug 1, 1834

Emancipation Act stated that slaves under 6 years old were freed. Field hands over 6 had to work for their owners for 6 more years.
