Released
Malcom was released from prison after 6 years and meets Elijah Mohammad, the leader of the Nation of Islam. He changes his name to Malcom X removing his last name Little which he considered a slave name. The X signifies his unknown tribal name. -
Chicago
Malcom X moves to Chicago and starts preaching the values of the Nation of Islam. -

A Busy Year
Malcom X meets Martin Luther King Jr. In that same year he converts to Islam. He creates Muslim Mosque Inc. He makes Hajj and becomes a better man. He also changed his name to El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz. -
