Period: May 19, 1925 to Jan 1, 1952 Malcolm Little's Life Jan 1, 1929 Malcolm's house was burned down by the KKK. Jan 1, 1931 Malcolm's father, Earl Little, was killed by a train by white racicts. Jan 1, 1939 Malcolm's mother, Louise Little went to a mental hospital because she could not take care of all her kids. Jan 2, 1939 Malcolm's teacher puts him down because he wanted to be lawyer, but he could not because he is black. Jan 1, 1940 Since Malcolm is separated from his mom he goes to many foster homes. Jan 1, 1941 Malcolm moves to Boston with Ella, his step sister and gets a job for the New Haven Railroad. Jan 1, 1943 Malcolm moves to Harlem, New York, gets a nickname called "Detroit Red", and gets involved in Criminal Activities. Feb 1, 1946 Malcolm is sentenced to eight to ten years in Charlestown Prison, because of larceny, breaking and entering into places, and carrying weapons. Feb 2, 1946 Malcolm starts educating himself by reading many books in prison. Jan 1, 1947 Malcolm learns about Elijah Muhammad who is part of the Nation of Islam (not actual Islam) and he converts to it. Jan 1, 1952 Malcolm is released from prison after six years (instead of eight to ten). Jan 2, 1952 Malcolm meets Elijah Muhammad in Chicago and receives "X" from the Nation of Islam. Period: Jan 2, 1952 to Dec 31, 1963 Malcolm X's Life Jan 1, 1953 Malcolm moves in with Elijah Muhammad and becomes a minister at different temples. Jan 1, 1955 Malcolm starts to hear rumors about Elijah Muhammad's adultery. Jan 1, 1958 Malcolm marries a nurse named Betty Sanders and they have their first child. Jan 1, 1962 Malcolm finds out that Elijah Muhammad is an adulterer and gets very upset Jan 1, 1963 Malcolm insults John F. Kennedy after he died, and the Nation of Islam kicks him out of their group because of the insult. Jan 1, 1964 Malcolm travels to Makkah and changes his name to Malak Al-Shabaaz. Period: Jan 1, 1964 to Feb 21, 1965 Malik Al-Shabaaz's Life Jan 2, 1964 In Makkah, Malcolm sees the beauty of Islam, and he truly accepts Islam. Jan 3, 1964 After his journey to Makkah, Malcolm returns to the U.S. and becomes a calmer and better person. Feb 14, 1965 Malcolm's house was firebombed by racists. Feb 21, 1965 Malcolm was assassinated, while giving a speech in Washington Heights, New York.
