  • Begging of the first Industrial Revolution

    The Industrial Revolution started in 1750s and it was a great discovery of machinery used to manufacture items faster. This started in Britain and it eventually spread to the rest of the world.
  • First British settlement in Adventure Bay

    First British settlement in Adventure Bay on Bruny Island led originally by Tobias Furneaux but then led by Captain James Cook later on. It was a series of visits by British explorers for shelter and resupply.
  • End of the Napoleonic Wars

    This was Napoleon's defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815, followed by his second abdication and exile to Saint Helena, and the Treaty of Paris in November 1815
  • End of Age of Revolution

    Significant political and social rise. Marked by revolutions in Europe and America. Including the American and French revolution. Rise of nationalism and industrialization
  • Shootout at Stringybark Creek

    On the 26th October 1878, Ned Kelly and his gang got into a shootout at Stringybark Creek in Victoria with police. 3 Policemen died. They were Sergeant Michael Kennedy, and Constables Thomas Lonigan and Michael Scanlan.
  • Beginning of the Boxer Rebellion

    The Boxer Gang in China fought against Europeans to try and take their Chinese land back because they were sick of being used for their land and as slaves. They hated the Chinese going Christian. Once China started fighting against Europe, America, Germany, Russia, The British and many others joined to fight again China. This took down China's imperialism and the Chinese Empress fled.
  • The Battle of Beersheba

    Key event in the Sinai and Palestine Campaign in WW1. Australians and Anzac mounted division led by the 4th and 12th light horse. Captured a heavily armed and reinforced town of Beersheba on October 31, 1917.
