Injuries
Today, during my senior year I was chasing a pigeon down the hall of the third floor of the second barracks, I was unable to stop myself when the bird flew out of the window so I went tumbling after.. they say I barely escaped it with mild injury. -
Random Mail
The presidents office told me that today they received a post card, from an anonymous writer who had made jokes about me falling out of the window not even two weeks after the incident. They were curious to know if a Clemson man, like myself could catch a pigeon.

I took oath today to defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic, I am proud to say I will be fighting for my country. -
The Purple Heart
Today I received the Purple Heart, which is a United States military decoration awarded in the name of the President to those wounded or killed while serving, on or after April 5, 1917, with the U.S. military. -
The reason I love what I do
As a young boy I grew up Greenville, South Carolina and I would build model airplanes, and that's where I found my love for flying that later encouraged me to become the pilot I am today. -
Bucket list wish
The last thing on my bucket list is to be flown around in a plane, I am honored and would like to enjoy my last flights. -
Family Life
When I was thirty-five I had two sons who were five and three years of age with my lovely wife. My family is the reason I have fought so hard throughout the years.

I volunteered to be on stand by in case I was needed today, after the 15th I began flying several missions, and I think it is my duty to wait until I know my country is stable.

The F-86 Sabre jet, similar to the one which I flew in Korea, was dedicated to my honor and was rededicated to me on the 35th anniversary. -
Air Force Honor
The Air Force honored me today by renaming the Laughlin Air Force Base's operations building more to the hall that is for me.
