German air power prevented the enemy from resupplying or redeploying forces and from sending reinforcements to seal breaches in the front. German forces could surround the enemy troops and force them to surrender.

It was never published because Germany would've thought it was their way of saying they were entering the war. When tanks came to Paris many people already fled but Germans went on arresting, interrogating and taking over. Canadian troops helped France and the people of Paris but FDR froze the American assets.

    This was the first battle to be faught entirley in the air. German forces had overrun many countries in Europe using Blitzkrieg (lightening war) tactics. Britain was the only one Nazi Germany had left to attack. Hitler started his attack with a force of over 1,350 bombers and 1,200 fighters airfields, and against towns. Britain was not expected to do well but this battle ended up being the first defeat for the Nazi's.

The Lend Lease brought the USA closer to war than they already were. $31.4 billion dollars in war supplies went to Britain and 20 billion went to other allies. The war supplies from the USA lead to many victories for the allies over a few years.

It completely destroyed an American battleship and capsized another. The attack sank or a total of twelve ships and damaged nine others. 160 aircraft were destroyed and 150 others damaged. The attack took the country by surprise espescially Pearl Harbor. After the attack, the US declared war on Japan.

    After the bombing on pearl harbor, Hitler declared war on the USA with Japan. Hitler didn't have to enter the war against the USA but he thought that it was inevitable, the the US will declare war first so thats why he declared war when he did. Germany thought that when Japan beat the US, it would help Gerany in its war with Russia. The US beat Japan and Germany surrendered to Russia.

    Because of the advancments of code breaking, the US cracked a code saying that the Japanese would attack the US fleet at Midway Island. This was the most important battle in the pacific. All of the Japanese carriers and 253 planes were destroyed and the Japanese navy never recovered.

    The Soviets made a move on Germany. They encircled the Germans and kept attacking them. The Germans only hope to survive was to surrender so thats what they did on Feb. 2 because Hitler wouldn't allow the surrender until then. He said that “surrender is out of the question. The troops will defend themselves to the last!" Half of all the men in this battle died, 35,000 men had been evacuated and the remaining 91,000 went to camps in the Soviet Union.

D-Day was on June 6th 1944 and it was codenamed Operation Neptune. This gave the American and other Allied troops an advantage in the war.

Germany's goal was to split the Allied powers through blitzkrieg attack (lightning strike). Allied troops pushed back and ended the German offense. Germany lost many many soldiers and supplies and it changed the end and outcome of the war.

After about a month the US marines completley wiped out the Japanese. The island is an important airbase for long range bombing missions against mainland Japan. Americans wanted to aeize the landing strips on the Japanese island and they suceeded after a month!

It wiped out around 90% of the city and 80,000 people died and many thousands more died of radiation exposure. 3 days later (Aug. 9th) another bomb fell onto the city of Nagaski killing around 40,000 people. After the second bomb dropped, Hirohito finally surrenderd to the USA on August 15th.
