Europe had been at war for already 9 months. The Germans invaded with tanks and ground troops. Hitler does this to gain even more land and set up forces all over Europe. They also attacked other countries like Great Britain and Belgium. It's effect was victory for Germany and a big Impact on the war. -
U.S gives Great Britain Supplies

The U.S gave supplies and aid to help support Great Britain after they said that they would be neutral. They did this so the U.S could then put military bases in Bermuda and The Caribbean. This was known as the Lend Lease. The British then used this to defend themselves agaisnt the british. -

Germany attacked just after dark when evrything was quiet and unexpected. Heavy Bombers bombed London and Great Britain which cause great destruction. Germany attacked London and Great Britain to demorolize London and force the British to come to terms. This bombing lasted for 57 days! The result was an accident for Luftwaffe but it was an accident that was to become consequences for Britain and Nazi Germany. -

Adolf Hitler had launch a major attack on the Soviet Union which was known as Operation Barborossa. It was from the North Cape to the Black Sea. Hitler launched Operation Barborossa because he wanted to end communism happening in USSR and he also take land and make slaves of the USSR People. This was known as the worlds largest military operation. The effect was that Germany was unprepared and were defeated by the Soviet Union. -

This was a sad day because the U.S was bombed in hawaii which made the U.S loose some battleships and other important boats. The japenese had bombed us. The bombing had lasted two hours. The Japs had done this out of surprise and anger because the U.S and Japan had been wanting to go to war for years. The next day FDR declared war on Japan. -
Battle of Midway
The U.S had gotten revenge on Japan with a sucessful victory. It was the turning point in the war of the pacific. The Americans intercepted some of the japs plans and created a plan to destroy the japenese as a result of victory. The battle of Midday occured so U.S could get revenge and they did. -
D-Day

D-day was an attack on the western Front of germany which was attacked by the allied powers. The attack was about a 50 mile stretch. Americans and other allies moved in through the beaches to close in on germany so then they would surrender and the war would be over. D-day was to stop the Nazi nation and end WW2. The impact was that the Allied powers won D-day and force the Nazi's closer to Hitler. -

Hitler attempted to split the Allied armies in northwest Europe by means of a surprise blitzkrieg thrust through the Ardennes to Antwerp. It was the Biggest battle of WW2. This was Germany's last major attack in war. The battle of the Bulge occured because of Hitler's plan to launch a counter-offensive to thrust through the allied armies in the Ardennes region of northwest Europe and recapture Antwerp in Belgium.Germany then lost. -
Battle of Iwo Jima

This was an attack on the Japenese which ended as a victory for the Americans. There were about 23000 japense troops on the island and were hiding in dugouts and caves. It occurred because the U.S. was following a military strategy of island hopping and Japan was wanting to take over the world . The end was that the Americans had taken over the Island of Iwo Jima and raised an American flag with was a very Motivational moment.
