The reconstruction was after the American Civil War from 1865 to 1877. The south was destroyed during the Civil War. A lot of crops and plants were burned down and most of their land was burned down too. Many confederates had money which was one worthless and the local government was in disarray. This event started on December 8, 1863 and ended on March 31, 1877. -

Abraham Lincoln’s victory made him the first president to win re-elected since Andrew Jackson in 1832. Lincoln was re-elected on Tuesday, November 8, 1864 near the end of the American Civil War. -

On April 8, 1865 Robert E. Lee surrenders. That same date was when the Civil War ended for him and the confederate army of northern Virginia. Robert E Lee shook hands with Grant. -
Lincoln assassination
Abraham Lincoln was shot by a man named John Wilkes Booth. Booth was going to kidnap and use Lincoln as a bargaining. But Lincoln had other plans in which Booth had different plans too. Booth and his co-conspirators killed Lincoln. Lincoln died on April 15, 1865, Petersen House, Washington, D.C.
