Republicans,Abraham Lincoln, and Southern Democrats were the really known people/ party’s in the Lincoln election. A bunch of issues happened because of the election like the secession relationship of the feudal government, states, territories, and slavery abolition. The Lincoln election took place in the Nation Convention in Chicago. The election was a main reason for the American Civil War. The results of the election is the first Republican president being elected (Election of 1860). -
South Carolina Secedes
Four former governors, Abraham Lincoln, and slaves there were others too. The South Carolina Secede was caused because of the expansion of slavery growing into the territory that they got from Mexico.The South Carolina Secede was in Charleston South Carolina in the Insatiate Hall. It help start the outbreak of the Civil War. South Carolina became the very first state to be secede as a Federal Union. Lincoln called a state convention for voting to remove South Carolina from the Union (Secession). -

The war started because the Confederate people fired on Fort Sumter in South Carolina Charleston Harbor. The overall reason the Civil War was thought of being fought is because of slavery.The Civil War was fought in thousands of different places. But most of the Civil War was fought in Virginia. The Union won the Civil war but the affects of the Civil War is The Emancipation of Proclamation. -
First Battle of Bull Run
There were Union and Confederate armies that fought in Virginia. It was the first big land battle in the American Civil War. They ran into each other in Virginia and started fighting because the Confederate strikes. The Confederate because the Federalist retreated to go and defend Washington D.C. (First Battle of Bull Run). -
Naval Battle: Monitor and Merrimack
There were warships from the Confederate side and Union side also (Monitor and Merrimack) they fought on water in Virginia. The Confederate side wanted to tare down the block aids that the union had said up. So the Confederated trued to break it down which started it. The battle was taken place in the Virginia’s waters. The outcome of the battle was indecisive so we don’t know who won (Battle of the Monitor and Merrimack). -

Union General Ulysses, Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston, Union army, and confederate army. The Confederates launched a attack on the Union forces in Southern Tennessee. The Union won over the Confederates even though the Confederates started it with a surprise attack (Shiloh). -
The second Battle of Bull Run
Confederate army and the Union army we’re the two armies that fought. Pope led his army to the Confederate and fired on them which started the battle of the Bull Run. The battle of Bull Run was fought in Virginia, Prince William County, and Fairfax County. The outcome is the rebels won and popes army was twice the size and lost (Second Battle of Bull Run). -
Battle of Antietam
The battle was between the Union army and Confederate army. Lincoln was scared to release the Proclamation during the time so they started fighting so he had to make a chose. The battle of Antietam was fought in Sharpsburg and Washington County (Antietam). -
Emancipation Proclamation
Abraham Lincoln issued the proclamation, it talks about all people that had slaves shall be let free. Lincoln made the proclamation because of war measures to hurt the Confederacy. It was made and signed in National Archives in Washington D.C. (The Emancipation Proclamation). -
Siege of Vicksburg
The union and the Confederacy fought in this battle. The Union couldn’t find any weak spots so they fired on them which started the battle Seige of Vicksburg. It was fought in Mississippi and Warren County. The Union won which gave them the control of the Mississippi River (Vicksburg). -
Battle of Gettysburg
The Union army fought the Confederate army in the battle of Gettysburg. They both were trying to get a certain road junction this led to them colliding and they started the battle in Gettysburg. They fought in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This ended the last big invasion for the Confederacy’s. It showed that Lee could be defeated. The Union won the battle of Gettysburg (Gettysburg). -

Scalawags, and carpetbaggers were two groups that help the reconstruction.It was to help the South became part of the Union again. It was mostly in the Richmond Virginia. The south got public schools, more equality’s, laws against racism, and economic development (Reconstruction). -
Lincoln Re-elected
Lincoln went up against General George McCellan. Lincoln won 55% of the popular votes. He won be a big amount 212-21. It took place in the United States more north. Lincoln beat McCellan in the election (Abraham Lincoln Re-elected). -
Robert E. Lee Surrenders
Lee was fighting the Union General Ulysses S. Grant when he surrendered. Lee surrendered because he didn’t want anymore destruction in the South that wasn’t needed. Lee surrendered at Appomattox Court House. The outcome is that the South didn’t get anymore destroyed then it already was but that means he lost (On This Day, Lee Surrenders at Appomattox). -
Lincoln Assassination
Lincoln got killed by John Wilkes Booth in a theatre in Washington. Booth thought that Lincoln was going to overtake the Constitution. Lincoln was killed by Booth in Washington D.C. in a theatre. After Lincoln died more damage were done in the North and South which made the north hate the south more (Abraham Lincoln’s Assassination). -
Confederation Formed
Thirteen confederation states were in the confederation form. The secedes states met in the Montgomery, Alabama to make a United government. They named in the Confederate States of America. The outcome is the British North America Act, and Canada’s Consitution (States Meet to Form Confederacy).
