    The Invasion of Polnad was the beginning of World War II. Poland was invaded by Germany and Poland was defeated within weeks of the invasion happening. This was when Germany and the Soviet Union had the non- Agression pact, so when Germany invaded, they had no fear of intervention from the soviets.t

    The battle of Britain was a fight between the German airforce and Britain airforce over the United Kingdom. It was the first fight to be fought completley by air forces. By Fall of 1940 it was clear that the British had won. This was the first defeat of Germany in WWII.
  • Operation Barbarossa - Russia

    Operation Barbarossa was when Germany and its Axis Allies invaded Russia in a surprise attack. Even though the non-Agression pact was still in effect, Germany launched the attack which led to Russia facing horrible losses. Hitler had aimed to conquer Russia before winter, but then the "General Winter" came and caused all German advances to stop.

    After Operation Barbarossa, Germany continued to advance through Russia. The German troops began to get exhausted as they pushed forwards towards Moscow. An early winter hit Russia. As the troops got near Moscow, Siberians launched a counteroffense causing the frontlines to be pushed back drasticly by January 1942.

    It was one of the most brutal fights in WWII. The Germans took some of the city, but could not assert their athority. The Russians put themselves in a place where they could launch a counterattack. Marshal Zhukov placed 6 Russian armies all around Stalingrad and trapped the Germans in. Hitler ordered Paulus to "fight to the last bullet" but after the harsh winter kicked in, with limmited supplies, Paulus surrendered.

    After the defeat of Stalingrad, the Germans wanted to get on the offensive. But having knowledge of that, the Russians got into defensive positions.The battle of Kusrk was the last big fight that Germany fought on the offensive.

    On June 6th 1944 the Allied forces invaded France. At the time frnace was occupied by Nazis and needed to be freed. D-Day was the largest amphibious invasion in history.
  • Battle of Bulge - Lux/Belgium

    The Batlle of Bulge started in December of 1944 and lasted until January 25 1945. It was the last big offensive by the Nazis against the Allies. The attack is know as the Ardennes Offensive, which was mostly against the American forces.

    In the battle of berlin, Russia came out victorious, and when they did, the Russians saw the end of Hitlers Third Reich. The purpose of this war was to end the Third Reich and to end WWII.
  • Hiroshima/Nagasaki - Japan

    Hiroshima/Nagasaki - Japan
    This event was a bombing of two highly-populated Japanese cities by America. The Americans dropped two atomic bombs named fat man and little boy and both bomb killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people. The Americans gave three days notice before they dropped the bombs. The bombs had not targeted military bases, but entire cities.
