    The first flight took place on the 9th feb 1969 and was certified in December. The 747 is a large, wide bodied airliner with 4 wing mounted engines. The 747 was larger than any aircraft that has come before. It carries up to 524 passengers. The 747 could travel longer distance than previous aircrafts. This aircraft made a lot of noises which led to complaints.

    The first centre parc resort was opened in Sherwood forest, Nottinghamshire which opened in 1987. This was made by Piet Derksen who was a successful business man. The centre parc could sleep 4806 people. Centre parcs was autism friendly, had a lake and beach, had activities for all ages such as exploring the forest, wandering along woodland trails and playing on the sandy beach. Centre parcs wasn't affordable for everyone and had a lot of bad reviews.

    The channel tunnel was a tunnel running from England to France and was 50km long. The journey time was 35 minutes long. It is one of the longest underwater tunnels in the world. The tunnel was a faster alternative to a plane or ferry. It was more eco friendly for travelling for such a short distance. The carriages were very spacious, its easy to check in and there are no queues. The price has increased making it expensive if you use the tunnel regularly. The bookings for ferry's decreased also

    The tsunami was a tragic incident that killed 275000 people across 14 countries and destroyed 141000 buildings. The tsunami was created by an earthquake that was along the Indonesian island. The tsunami reached 167 feet and flooded 3 miles of land. It pushed the population to reflect and improve its mechanisms for managing catastrophes, and in the country's Aceh province it led to the end of a conflict which had lasted 70 years.
