This battle was when German troops invaded France through the low countries. The Germans took Paris unopposed and the French surrendered. after the Germans signed the second armistice of Copenhagen and released a puppet state in the southern area of France. -
Battle of Britain
This battle was fought entirely by aircraft between Britain and Germany. The main focus of the battle for the Germans was to gain air superiority. For the British it was to defend. The Germans then planed to target factories and cripple Britain. -
Battle of Leningrad
Was part of operation Barbosa. The Germans were so confident of taking Leningrad that Hitler sent out victory invitations before they took it. Bloodiest battle of WW2. if lost this would highly demoralize the soviets. The casualties were 3.5 million Soviets to 85 thousand Germans. -
Operation Torch
The purpose of operation torch was to remove the axis powers from Africa. This battle resulted in an allied victory. the allies sent 107,000 troops to the invasion against the axis with only 60,000. First Us invasion that included Para trooping soldiers in. -
Battle of Stalingrad
during this battle Germany took Stalingrad from the Soviets the soviets the initiated operation Uranus in which they overran the flank of the Germans. Then surrounded them and eventually killed off most causing the rest to surrender. -
D-Day
D day happened on June 6th 1944 by 156,000 American, British, and Canadian soldiers landed on the beaches of Normandy. During the battle 4,000 soldiers lost their lives to the heavily fortified Germans. after winning on the beaches allied equipment and troops showed up in masses including 326,000 soldiers, more than 50,000 vehicles and about 100,000 tons of equipment. This invasion began the beginning of the fall of the German Reich. -

This battle was the most major last offensives in the war. Preformed by the soviets they surrounded the Germans in the east north and south annihilating them from all sides. 80 thousands soviets died as well as 100 thousand Germans died resulting in a soviet victory.
