it was a miricle that the english could get dunkurk evacuated. the battle basically took place in france. it was the over taking of france and some other contries. the historical significance is that this battle may be a major push twords war, and it was the falling of one allied power. -
Battle of Britain
Jul 10, 1940 – Oct 31, 1940
This was a major turning point within the war. it was where the german and british air forces collided. The Luftwaffe was ultimately defeated by the british royal air force without this battle there would probably have been a ground attack and ultimately germany would have probably occupied Great Britain. -
Operation Torch
November 8-10 1942
This is the event where america and britin work together to invade north eastern africa. This is of significance because the germans now controled france, thus this advance on nother africa could keep germany from getting more assets to their new empire. -
Battle of Stalingrad
July 17 1942 - February 1943
This was one of the most bloody battles of WWII. It was a successful campaign by the USSR to protect the city of stalingrad. The Russians consider it to be one of their greatest battles. the historical significance is immense it made it so that the USSR could fight the germans and that the allies won the war. -

September 8, 1941 - January 27 1944
This was the german army laying siege to the city of leningrad also known as ST. Petersburg. The siege is one of the longest in history it was 872 days long. The germans eventually let up however this was not good, -

June 6,1944 This is one of the most important parts of the war. i was the day that thousands of american,british, and canadian soldiers landed in france and liberated it form their faciest rulers, A.K.A. Germany. This freed western europe form gremany. Thus changing the tid e of the war! -

December 16 1944 - January 25 1945
Like all other battles of this war there were several casualties. This battle was an attempt by hitler to split up the allied forces using the blitzkrieg technique. despite the sudden attack the american army prevailed and won the battle. -
Battle of Berlin
April 16, 1945 – May 2, 1945
This battle by far is the most important of World War Two. It was fought by the germans and the USSR. The USSR ended the war by defeating the last of the german armies. After this the war was no more and germany was split into 4 parts, due to an agreement reached by the allies.
