Battle of France/Miracle of Dunkirk
- Aka the fall of France, was the German invasion of France and the low countries during the second war
- the battle was organized in two separate operations
- Hitler forces arrived in Paris and their generals met with the french government
- A week later a cease fire agreement was signed between France and Germany. Signing the deed meant that France had to surrender about 2 million soldiers.

Battle of Britain
- After Hitler conquered most of Europe the only major country left to conquer was Great Britain
- Great Britain had a super strong air force so Germany would have to take them out before they try to defeat Great Britain
- Hitler was becoming angered with Great Britain that he sent a bomb to London
- Great Britain lost much but they were able to stand their ground and because of that Great Britain won that battle
- the bombers were told to leave Great Britain and go attack Russia.

- The deaths from the Battle of Leningrad was around 1,500,00 deaths
- There were attempts to evacuate Leningrad
- Mass starvation caused cannibalism. the town was not prepared for a lengthy war. they had food only for 1 to 2 months
- Hitler knew that he wouldn't be able to take the city in a normal battle. Food stores were targeted by bombers
- After more than 800 days under the siege the red army finally felt that they had to break through the the German blockade and save the city

Battle of Stalingrad
- German air force started this battle by bombing the Volga River and then the city of Stalingrad
- The Soviets however were not ready to give up a brutal fight was happen
- The Soviets had a plan to starve the Germans to this they would surround them in one spot. weak from the lack of food German soldiers would surrender
- Hitler was angered by the surrender he expected Paulus to fight to the death or commit suicide rather than surrender.

Operation Torch
- a joint US-British invasion of the French North Africa during the Second World War.
- The Allied planned to send 120,000 men, 500 aircrafts, and several warships to Morocco and Algeria
- Allied forces preparing to land were met by artillery fire from French shore batteries.
- After two days of fighting, the French surrendered, and all the three towns were placed under Allied control.

- Was the largest battle fought on the western front and was the largest battle ever fought with the U.S
- Many American troops were inexperience while the German army consisted of veterans from the war before
- The Germans waited for bad weather to attack to diminish the support of aircraft to its troops on feet
- despite a Luftwaffe offensive in Holland and a second ground offensive the Germans launched the Alsace.
- The battle finally ended January 16 exactly one month after it began.

Battle of Berlin
- this battle was fought between the German army and the Soviet union. The Soviet army greatly outnumbered the Germans
- On April 20th the Soviets began bombing Berlin. The Soviets surrounded them Hitler knew he would lose this war
- Hitler admitted defeat and committed suicide
- The night of May 1st some of the remaining soldiers tried to escape
- On may 2, 1945 the remaining nazi leaders signed a surrender to the allies and the war in Europe was over .
