    -40,000 civilians lost their lives due to disregard of the citizens.

    -The battle is known for the snipers

    -The British and America joined forces to invade France North Africa.
    - This was the first major airborne assault carried out by the US.
    -The allies were pressured by the Soviet Union to do this, so that it would shift the Germans focus, so it was a two front war.
    - They organized 3 task forces to get the key ports in Morocco and Algeria.
    - Roosevelt ordered that this was important and that this needed to happen.

    • 10,000 estimated Allies were killed
    • D-Day was the allies storming Normandy, France in order to liberate them
    • It ended with France liberated -They tricked the Germans into thinking this was going to occur somewhere other than Normandy.

    -Stalin wanted Russia to gain war and was determined to capture Berlin.
    -This Battle lead to Hitler's suicide shortly after this battle ended.
    -Stalin's plan was to surround Berlin and then attack it.
    -2,25 million Soviet soldiers marched Berlin.
