    The First Americans

    -English exploration of the 'new world'
    -Native Americans already inhabited the land
    -Portugal and Spain were the first to start exploring new areas of land
    -The Columbian Exchange, Native Americans taught Europeans about tobacco, corn, potatoes, beans, peanuts, and tomatoes. The Europeans taught the Natives about wheat, oats, barley, rice, grapes for wine, and melons.
    -Domesticated animals were brought over, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, and cattle.
    -New diseases were brought to the Natives
