After many years the Jewish state was created to try and give the Jews a homeland where they could be at peace, but many of the suurounding countries dislike this county and fight to rid Israel off the map. -

Formation of NATO
The North Atlantic Treaty Orginization agrees to come together if an outside force attacks them. They will form a mutual pack for the time being and fight off the invaders. -
Start of the Korean War
Started because tensions between the U.S. and the USSR were rising in Korea, so war broke out over communsism. -
End of Korean War
The war was getting negative feedback in the U.S. so they withdrew troops in a process called vietnamization, were U.S. troops were replaced by South Korean troops. -
Lauch of Sputnik
The Sputnik was the first satellite launched out into space succesfully. THis started the Space Race between the U.S. and the USSR. -
Bay of Pigs Invasion
The CIA trains cuban mercenaries to attack Cuban bases, so that the U.S. is not blamed and nukes will be launched at them. The invasion is a complete fail because of no U.S. support. -
SALT Talks begin
The USSR and the U.S. start to come together to limit the arms that they are producing. -
Ayatollah Khomeini becomes Iran's leader
The Islamic people disliked the Shah's rule and made him flee out of the country. This led to Ayatolloah becoming supreme ruler of Iran by popular support. -
Agreement of SALT Talks
President Jimmy Carter and Brezhnev come to and agreement and sign the Srategic Arms Limitation Talks to reduce the number of weapons each country has built up. -
Assassination of Sadat
The Islamic people in Egypt felt betrayed because their president was agreeing to Israles terms and the Islamic people didn't want that. -
Tiananmen Square protest
Many people in China wanted the government to move towards democracey, so they lined up in front of the imperial palace and went on strikes. The government responded by sending out tanks and military to rid the people from the plalace's front. -
Assassination of Rabin
An Israeli ultranationalist opposed Rabin's peace agreements and killed him.
