Three witches make a prophecy for Macbeth and predict when he will come. -
Macbeth, the new king of Scotland
Macbeth and Banquo return from a battle in Scotland when they meet the three witches. They tell Macbeth that he will be the new king of Scotland and the new Thane of Cawdor. Banquo, however, will not. The witches told Banquo his desendents will become future kings of Scotland as well. -
Duncan throws a party
King Duncan goes to Macbeth's castle to throw him a party. Macbeth sends a letter to his wife, Lady Macbeth, stating the prophecy from the witches. Lady Macbeth believe's that her husband should kill Duncan to become king. Macbeth is reluctant at first, but finally gives in to his wife and commits the crime. -
Macbeth's henchmen
Macbeth hires two murderers to kill Banquo and his son. The murderers only killed Banquo, while Fleance managed to escape. Macbeth throws a feast and is angry when the murderers tell him that Fleance has escaped. Macbeth goes mad later on the night. -
Banquo's ghost
During the feast, Macbeth was slowly losing his mind. When he tries to stay calm, he claims to see the ghost of Banquo. The ghost may be apart of his conscious. This makes Macbeth even more crazy and has his wife worried about him. -
Scotland in ruin
Macduff leaves Scotland to find Malcolm to try to convince him to be the rightful king of Scotland. Malcolm tests Macduff by stating how he would be a bad king and Macduff responds by saying Malcolm will get everything he wants. Macduff then tells Malcolm about how Macbeth is treating Scotland. He says that Macbeth is ruining Scotland. -
Lady Macbeth sleepwalks
Lady Macbeth is now sleepwalking. She talks about how she tries to wash off the blood spot of of her hand. The gentlewoman asks the doctor for help, but psyhcology wasn't studied at that time. The sleepwalking is a sign that Lady Macbeth is guilty for the murders of Banquo, Lady Macduff and Duncan. -
Macduff''s family gets murdered
While Macduff is away, Macbeth sends the now three murderers to go after Macduff''s family. They first kill the young son, and then the mother. When Macduff returns, he is told that his family is killed and is outraged. -
Macbeth's downfall
Macbeth and Macduff go to battle. Macduff''s army use the branches to convince Macbeth the woods are moving. Macbeth goes crazy and has most of his men killed by Macduff's men. -
Macduff's army
Macduff gathers 1000 English men to be troops in his army. He reveals his plans to the men about cutting down tree limbs to make Macbeth think the Birnam wood is moving. -
Macbeth's death
Macduff kills Macbeth and has his head as a trophy. This is a victory for him and he is now king of Scotland.
