    New school and big news
Lucy is a brand new freshman in a high school where she doesn't know anyone. She tries to make friends, but people haven't been too friendly. When she got home that day, Lucy found out from her mother that her grandmother just passed away. "We are going to go over to Grandma Mable's house to collect some things." said Lucy's mother.

    Grandma Mable's belongings
Lucy woke up from the long car trip out to the country where outside the window was an old white house with the paint chipping. "Do you want to come in?' asked Lucy's mother "Uncle Jed told me that the things Grandma wanted us to have are just inside the door in a box." Lucy agreed to have one last look at old Granny's house. They got home, and Lucy noticed a really cool jewelery box amid the collected things. "Can I have this?" she asked her mom. "Sure thing" her mother replied.

Lucy brought the jewelery box up to her bedroom and set it on her desk as she was finishing her homework. When she was stumped on a math question, she pulled the whtie box toward her. The first thing that caught her eye when she opened it was a gold ring with a rose colored gemstone. "This is so cool!" Lucy exclaimed. She tried it on different fingers, until it finally fit her index finger. All of a sudden, everything went black.

    Forest
Lucy woke up on scattered leaves and twigs. "Wha- WHAT?" she yelled cautiously. "Whoa. I'm in a forest." Lucy looked around, and there was something different about this forest than ones she's been camping in. This one seemed...obscurely magical. Lucy suddenly realized the trees around her. The twigs she was sitting on, they were giant pine needles! The trees surrounding her were thick enough that ten people could hold hands around them. She couldn't even see the tops of the trees.

    Lost
Lucy was so amused- she was so happy to be away from the real world. She looked down at her ring that was still on her finger. "Thanks Grandma" she said to it. Lucy walked around through the endless groves of trees. She saw some birds fly overhead, and they were chirping loudly in chorus with eachother. She had no idea how much time had passed.

    Not like the others
Lucy walked past an opening in a thick grove. It seemed to glow like moonlight! It looked like the perfect climbing tree- it seemed like there were actual stairs on it. Lucy was so intrigued. She walked over to the twisting tree that was towering over her. The light above seeping through the leaves was so bright she had to squint. She hopped onto the first few steps- when all of a sudden she felt vibrations coming from the core of the massive tree.

    Curious Creatures
"Whoa!" Lucy fell down and saw the leaves on top of the tree shaking. Lucy covered her eyes until the shaking eventually stopped. Lucy, still with her eyes shut, got a tap on her shoulder. She screamed. They screamed back! Who were they? "Excuse me, miss" one of them said "we are the magical elves of the forest. Sorry we scared you." Lucy looked up, and saw cute little pointy-eared elves everywhere. "Look guys," one exclaimed near Lucy, "It's Mable!"

    Welcome to Mablewood
Completely surrounded by these adorable, feeble creatures, Lucy was caught in the middle of a huge hug from the around her legs. "Mable?" she asked the elves, "thats not my name. That was my grandma's name. My name is Lucy."
"Welcome to Mablewood Lucy!" one elf exclaimed, who seemed to be the ruler because he had a leaf crown on his head. "Let's all go to the Kingdom and celebrate Lucy's appearance!" the elves cheered in harmony and pushed Lucy along by the calves over to the tree.
  • Elven Kingdom

    Elven Kingdom
Elf after elf whooshed passed Lucy up the tree saying "Climb, climb!" Lucy journeyed up the branchy tree and up through the leaves. The bright light was overwhelming, but as soon and she broke through the leaves she stepped on smooth ground. "How could this be?" Lucy said. Looking around, there was clear space with columns seperating rooms. They pushed her along to a recreational hall where they played games with grass balls and something like tag. It was a cheerful experience for Lucy.

    Back to the real world
After all the fun and games, the group held a feast of berries. As Lucy ate, she remembered that she had real obligations in life. "Hey Guys!" she said. She had the chatty elves' attention. "I have had so much fun with all of you! But I just remembered, I have school tomorrow. I really need to be getting home." There was a sad "aw" throughout the crowd. "You guys are great friends." The elves and Lucy all group hugged. Lucy took her ring off, and woke up between her familiar bedsheets.
