fort sumter is an important battle because it is the first battle in the civil war. this battle really kick started the war. after this battle each country makes huge armies to defeat the other armies. this battle was a bombardment. the south put many cannons outside of the fort and shot them over and over. there were only 2 casulties. -
Antietem
General Lee has been rampaging through the us and is now coming up agenst the union again. Robert e lee is and the confederates are stopped at Antietam in Maryland. McClellan outnumbers the confederates by a lot. is a important battle because is is the bloodiest battle up until this point. by the end 26,000 are dead. -
Gettysburg
Gettysburg is an important battle because this is one of the first major victories for the union. more that 1/3 of lees armies was killed. This is the bloodiest battle faught in the united states with 51,118 causalities. this battle turned the tides of the war and the union advanced faster than ever. Most battles after are won by the union. -
Lee Surrenders
General Robert E Lee surrenders his army to general Ulysses S Grant. this is important because Lee was the best general in the union. This is pretty much the end of the war. All fighting ends after this. All southern armies are let free and go home. -
Lincoln Shot
President Abraham Lincoln is shot at a play. He is shot by J.W Booth in an attempt to help the confederates get back on their feet. as Lincoln is shot the confederates also go for the vice president and secretary of state. Both of these attempts fail. The north is sad about this and booth is soon killed by the army.
