In 31 July 1932 elections , The Nazis became the largest party in Reichstag. The party had won 37.4% of the votes and 230 seats, However Hitler refused to join a coalition government unless he was appointed chancellor. Hindenberg opposed this demand -
Hitler became chancellor
One year after the elections on January 30 1933, Hindenberg appointed Hitler as chancellor in he coalition government. It was not dominated by Nazis, but rather by members of the conservative German National People Party and non-partisan professionals from the bureaucracy. -
Boycott of businesses owned by Jewish people
Members of the storm troopers with signs boycotts and blocks entrances to a Jewish owned shop. One of the sign exhorts "Germans! Defend Yourselves! Dont buy from the Jews!
