ANGELES UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION — LifeRisks Adviser Norman B. Mendoza was invited by the Medical Technology Department to conduct a two-session seminar on “Stress-management and suicide prevention: Mental health care in the 21st century” for their Freshmen students, last March 20, 2019. Attended by more than 300 freshmen MedTech students, the talk covered the prevalence of suicide in the Philippines and how it could be prevented by peer and family support, as well as self-care. -

LifeRisks founding Vice-President, John Ian Wilzon T. Dizon, successfully defended his Masters thesis last April 13, 2019. He presented findings on factors related to suicide ideation from 631 college adolescents from two private universities in Angeles City, Philippines. Congratulations, Wilzon! -

First Psychological First Aid administered in Clark
LifeRisks Adviser Norman B. Mendoza and President Adrian Paul P. Liangco, were tapped to facilitate debriefing sessions to the employees from a logistics company at Clark. They ran ten 1.5-hour group sessions for the employees to revisit their experience of the 6.1M earthquake last April 22, 2019. The goal of the sessions was to reassure workplace support and safety, promote productive coping, and assess employee needs. -
LR Adviser and LR VP attend training on Psychological First Aid

Preliminary analysis on G-Pulse Data
LifeRisks officers braved the torrential rains last June 29, Saturday, to meet and discuss the completion of the 2-month data collection for G-PULSE or the Pampanga Earthquake and Well-being survey. A total of 1,208 answered the survey, with a 65% completion rate. We received positive feedback from those who received their well-being scores. We extend our thanks to all who participated in the survey. -

LR Auditor Marc Efraim Mendoza, CPA, represented LifeRisks in the Focused Group Discussion (FGD) on the “Philippine Development Plan 2040 (PDP)” hosted by the Asian Social Project Services, Inc. Last November 12, 2019, LifeRisks visited St. Catherine Academy of Porac to discuss about the emotions, & seeking help to Kindergarten to Grade 6 pupils, and depression, mental health and suicide to Grade 7 to Grade 12 students. Launching of GPULSE6
LifeRisks relaunched the NEW and IMPROVED well-being survey called #GPULSE6. Open for everyone aged 18 years old and above. LifeRisks has put together a list of well-being questionnaires to help you learn more about your mental health. It measures six well-being indicators: (1) Sleep, (2) Happiness and well-being, (3) Depression, (4) Resilience, (5) Optimism, and (6) Self-injurious thoughts and behaviors. The survey is FREE and can be completed in 10 minutes. -

Launching of LifeRisks' It Starts with One project
This project aims to help one deserving HS student residing in Pampanga in his or her online class by providing him or her a laptop computer. Given the recent news reports on students who died due to suicide with reasons related to the high cost needed for online classes, LifeRisks hope that this simple gesture of helping one student could inspire others to help students who are deserving but do not have the necessary resources in attending their online classes. -
