Chapter One
Aubrey, an 11 year girl has been at her home, in Virginia, by herself. Her sister and dad were killed in a car carsh and because of that her mom left her alone a couple of days ago. She thinks this is kind of fun. Until her grandmother comes from Vermont to check on her and her mom. -
Chapters 2-3
Aubrey's grandmother finds out that her daughter, Aubrey's mother, has disapeared so she starts panicking and then starts to call her daughters friends to see if Aubrey's mom is with her, but she is not. Her grandmother takes Aubrey and they go on a train back to Vermont because Aubrey cannot stay home by herself without anyone there. -
Chapters 4-5
They arrive back home in Vermont and the first thing Aubrey thinks is that it smells like cows. It took them a day to get to Vermont but Aubrey is NOT happy to be there.When they get to her grandmothers house, Aubrey is supposed to unpack. Each morning Aubrey has to do chores around the house in the blazing heat. The day after arriving at her grandmothers, Aubrey meets this girl named Bridget and they become friends very quickly. -
Chapters 6-7
Aubrey is still at her grandmothers, but it is not that bad. Her grandmother is still looking for her mom with no luck. Fortunately Aubrey is still friends with Bridget. One day Bridget and her go and make a restaurant and Aubrey has a flash back of when her and her little sister made a resturant before she died.One day her grandmother takes Aubrey to go to visit the school that she will be attending soon. She meets the pricipal of the school. -
Chapters 8-9
The next day is rainy so Aubrey and Bridget play inside all day. Aubrey is still really sad about what happened to her mom, but is also kind of mad that her mom left her. Aubrey tells Bridget about the car crash that killed her dad and little sister, Savannah. -
Chapters 10-11
School starts in a week so Aubrey and her grandmother go "back to school" shopping. Aubrey is not excited for school because she will not know anybody other than Bridget. Her and Bridget spend the last few days of summer playing outside. The first day of school is actually on Aubrey's little sister's birthday which makes it even worst. After the day is over Aubrey actually likes her new school. -
Chapters 12-13
Aubrey starts her school counseling but she only goes when she has to. She has began to like her new school even more and has even made a few new friends. Her grandmother is still looking for her mom but Aubrey doesn't care if she finds her or not. But one day Aubrey's grandmother gets a call from Colorado. It is from one of Aubrey's mom's friend who is the one her mom is staying with. But I can't say anymore because I will give away the rest of the story. -
