On new year's eve,Louis used his stepfather's gun and fired it in the air during a new year's eve celebration and got arrested and spent a night at New Orleans Juevenile Court. After that he got sent to detention at the colored waif's home for boys the next day. He started to really love music and he got instruction on how to play the cornet.
