Chapter One - The sound of the shell
A plane crashes on an island and there is a group of young, English boys who survived.
The group forms together and they try to keep themselves civilized and under order and control. T
They are in fact stranded and they don’t know that in the future they will start to become savages.
They are realizing they have to fend for themselves, and are aiming to be responsible and keep
themselves alive. -
Chapter 2 - Fire on the mountain
Ralph faces the fact that there are no adults and he has to gain responsibility on his own.
The boys are focused on hunting and to create a fire. They try not to think of a bad outcome like
making a bad forest fire. The boys lost a person due to their lack of civilization and responsibility. -
Chapter 3 - Huts on the beach
Ralph has to take responsibility to create huts to keep idea of shelter homes and
protection. Jack is assigned to find food and hunt. Simon is helping ralph create the huts. He argues
about beauty and the peace of the woods but that is not helping. The less arguing the better they will
be off. -
Chapter 4 - Painted faces and long hair
Jack is really trying hard to kill a pig. Also Jack and Rodger are throwing rocks at the
Littluns which are the weaker ones. Jack thinks it’s a good idea to paint his face camouflage when he
hunts, they get carried away with hunting and forget about the fire so they miss an opportunity of
rescue. -
Chapter 5 - Beast from water
Ralph tries to bring everyone closer together. They are littluns say that they should let
The beast out of the water but the boys have a fear. -
Chapter 6 - Beast from air
They boys are asleep and a war starts to happen. Ralph is dreaming of home and the
Twins wake up screaming that they saw the beast and that it was furry had wings and teeth. -
Chapter 7 - Shadows and tall trees
They boys are getting excited by the hunt. They plan a joke to hunt Robert, the joke is
taken too far and Robert gets hurt by being hit with the spear. -
Chapter 8 - Gift from the darkness
The boys are taking it to another level and purposely harming and being cruel to the
pigs. The boys leave a pig dead on a stick as an offer to the beast and this shows how their fears are
starting to be uncontrollable. -
Chapter 9 - A view to death
The savagery that was in them is gone now when they all plan and kill Simon. They think
he is a beast slowly trying to hurt them but slowly after they beat him they realize he was just a
friend. -
Chapter 10 - The shell and the glasses
Jacks tribe is taking fire and glasses from Ralphs tribe, this causing a lower chance of
Rescue. Jack would get off the island faster if he was thinking clearly and realize if they worked
together and kept the glasses safe. -
Chapter 11 - Castle rock
The boys are hurting each other and evil is inside them. Jack and Ralph start to fight and
Ralph is wounded. Piggy tries to be heard over the brawl but Rodger shoves a massive rock down
the mountainside and it strikes piggy and he falls to his death. Ralph makes his way into the jungle and
He and Jack start to torture Sam and Eric. -
Chapter 12 - Cry of the hunters
Ralph hides in the jungle and later on in the night he makes his way down to the camp at
Castle rock. The twins tell him that Jack plans to send his whole tribe after him the next day. Ralph
hides in a thicket. Ralph smells smoke and realizes that Jack set the jungle on fire to make him come
out. He ends up on the beach with exhaustion. Ralph looks up and sees a naval officer standing
above him. The other boys show up and they all start sobbing as they are rescued.
