    Miles Halter throws a going away party, he's a little introverted and only to people come (who he thinks are boring) He thinks that going to boarding school in Alabama will help him find his "great perhaps"
  • 128 Days Before

    Miles leaves Florida to go to his new boarding school in Alabama, Culver Creek. He gets his room and meets his new roommate Chip (aka. The Colonel) and Alaska. Miles then learns about the labyrinth from Alaska
  • 127 Days Before

    Miles meets "The Eagle" and Takumi for the first time, he also learns about Marya and how she got kicked out of school. Miles is also taken in the middle of the night, duck taped, and thrown into the lake. He manages to make it out safe and alive but Chip is very angry.
  • 126 Days Before

    The Colonel wakes up to the smell of pee in his shoes, and asks Miles to identify the people who took him to the lake. Miles also has his first day of school, meeting his teachers; Mme. O'Malley and Dr. Hyde.

    Miles meets the Colonels girlfriend, Sara, who is a weekday warrior. The Colonel an Sarah end up arguing and canceling their date. Sara says the the Colonel is the one who ratted on Marya and that is why they're getting pranked.

    Miles gets kicked out of Mr. Hyde's class for not paying attention, Alaska leaves the class with him. Alaska starts flirting with Miles, but right after reminds him that she loves her boyfriend.

    Miles and friends watch a school basketball game, the Colonel bothers the opposite team and they end up getting kicked out

    Mr. Hyde asks Miles to stay after school to discuss about the window incident, they discuss things about the Buddhists beliefs and being present

    Miles meets Lara, a Russian girl, and she teaches him precalc. Alaska says "I may die young, but at least I'll die smart."

    Alaska explains how she got to pick her name, and later says "I'm not going to be one of those people who sits around talking about what they're going to do, I'm just going to do it"
  • 99 Days Before

    Miles and friends get caught smoking at the lake, they face Jury the next day. Alaska says "Sometimes you lose a battle, but mischief always wins the war."

    Miles and friends go to the jury, Alaska and the Colonel take the blame. They tell Miles to not talk and they covered him, proving they could be trusted.

    Miles gets a "girlfriend" - Lara, and Alaska plans a triple and a half date.

    The friends go to a school basketball game for their date. Miles meets Jake, Alaska's boyfriend. Miles ends up wishing he was Jake, and gets hit by a basketball while thinking. Once he gets out of the game, he throws up on Lara's pants and the Colonel breaks up with Sara.

    Miles avoids Lara all day out of fear, and Alaska seems to be in a terrible mood all day.

    Mr. Hyde assigns the class their exam question, "What's the most important question human beings must answer". Alaska's room is later flooded and she assumes it was the weekday warriors who did it.

    Takumi tells Miles that Alaska is the one who ratted on Marya, and doesn't tell the Colonel. Takumi also expects Miles to take the blame if they get caught doing anything bad, just like Alaska did.

    Miles starts getting annoyed with Alaska because of her surprises. Alaska convinces Miles to stay at school with her for Thanksgiving, and the Colonel warns Miles not to do anything that might hurt her relationship.

    Miles gets close to Alaska while reading and drinking wine with her. Alaska talks about her labyrinth and says it's suffering and pain. Miles gets too close and almost kisses Alaska, but she stops him.
  • 51 Days Before

    Alaska and Miles sneak into the weekday warriors rooms to plan a new prank, and plan to use their hair products to turn their hair blue.
  • 49 Days Before

    Miles and Alaska sneak into other students rooms, and end up finding porn. They watch it together, and the whole thing is very awkward for them. Alaska says the women are being objectified angrily, and falls asleep soon after. Miles think about wanting to sleep with her, not sexually.

    The Colonel gives Alaska and Miles his mom's trailer for Thanksgiving dinner. He also talks about why he doesn't like rich people and the rich kids at their school.

    The friends have Thanksgiving together, and all list what they're thankful of

    Alaska takes Miles to the liquor store, and flirts her way into getting them alcohol and cigarettes. Later, Alaska runs into Miles room yelling about how she screwed everything up. She told the Colonel about ratting on Marya and he got mad at her.
  • Christmas

    Everyone goes home, Miles parents are very happy to see him and they tell him how proud they are of him.
  • 8 Days Before

    Alaska suggests pulling a pre-prank on the weekday warriors, and Miles isn't sure what is going on with the pranks
  • 4 Days Before

    Miles is left out of the group, and feels lonely. He later finishes his religion paper and says "People can't bear the idea of death being a big black nothing"
  • 3 Days Before

    The pranks are pulled, The Colenol tells the Eagle that he's taking Miles and Takumi home with him and his mom covers for them. They set up in the barn and set off fireworks as a distraction. Lara puts blue hair dye in the weekday warriors hair products, and Alaska prints off fake report cards for the people who threw Miles in the lake.
  • 2 Days Before

    The friends spend the day together in the barn, and have a freestyle rapping contest. After dinner they play the game "Best/Worst Day". Alaska talks about her worst day being when she let her mom die.
  • 1 Day Before

    All friends are having a chill day, but Alaska is still talking about being upset
  • The Last Day

    Miles and Lara spend the day together to catch up on homework, but also ask Alaska about sex. Alaska, Miles, and the Colonel all celebrate the success of the prank by drinking, and they play truth or dare. Alaska dares Miles to make out with her. Later that night Alaska comes back crying, saying she always forgets and messes things up. She forces Miles and the Colonel to help her escape school, so they set of fireworks and she drives away intoxicated.

    All students are called to the gym to learn about Alaska's death. Miles originally thinks it's a prank, but later learns it's real and he didn't know about her last words.
  • 2 Days After

    Miles can't sleep well, and the Colonel is mad at Alaska for making an irrational decision. Miles gets visited by lots of people, and later has a dream about Alaska being alive but turning into a corpse.
  • 4 Days After

    The Colonel returns at 5am after walking for 45 hours straight, he explains that his dreams are terrible and doesn't want to have them.
  • 6 Days After

    The group goes to Alaska's funeral, and Miles breaks down. Alaska's coffin is closed and her father explained that's what she wanted. Miles insists that he still loves Alaska.
  • 7 Days After

    Miles and the Colonel clean out Alaska's room, and find a book about the Labyrinth. They find the words "Straight and Fast" written in it, and Miles assumes Alaska commit suicide to escape her labyrinth.
  • 8 Days After

    Mr. Hyde puts Alaska's exam question on the board "How will we ever get out of this Labyrinth of suffering." The Colonel gets mad at the people who claim to be upset about Alaska's death but didn't even know her.
  • 9 Days After

    The Colonel thinks Alaska had a fight with Jake and drove away because she was upset, and Miles refuses to believe the story because they made out that night.
  • 13 Days After

    Miles and the Colonel go to the police station to ask about Alaska's death, and the Colonel pretends to be Alaska's brother so he can get information. The police officer tells them a few things, her alcohol level in her blood was very high. there were white flowers in the back of her car, and she didn't brake or swerve at all when she rammed into the car. This leads Miles to believe Alaska's death was a suicide.

    They boys look up warning signs of suicide, but Alaska didn't fit very many of these. Miles says that searching these things up makes him hate her more.
  • 20 Days After

    The Colonel suggests they talk to Jake about Alaska, but Miles refuses and gets angry. He'd secretly wanted Alaska to leave Jake to be with him after all. The Colonel also gets upset and tells Miles that he doesn't care about Alaska as a person and he only cares about their secret love affair. If he loved her so much, why would he let her drive away drunk. Miles walks away, overly angry. Later, they apologize to each other
  • 21 Days After

    Takumi and Miles get together to talk about Alaska, and Takumi explains that he feels left out that they haven't been telling him what's going on. Lara is wondering if her and Miles are still dating.
  • 27 Days After

    The Colonel and Miles steal the Eagle's breathalyzer, and the Colonel tries to get as drunk as Alaska was the night of her death. They don't let Takumi come, but they promise to tell him everything the next day. Suddenly, they here footsteps and Miles lights a cigarette to mask the smell of the alcohol, he takes all the blame and is told to go to jury.

    Miles goes to jury and is given ten hours of work. The Colonel tells Takumi everything, and Takumi yells angrily saying they let her go
  • 29 Days After

    The Colonel calls Jake, and Jake explains what he knows about what happened to Alaska. She seemed fine, it was their 8 month anniversary, everything was fine but she suddenly flipped out and said she had to leave. She told Jake "To be continued"
  • 37 Days After

    Miles runs in to Lara, and they talk. He apologizes for being a bad friend and boyfriend.
  • 45 Days After

    Miles and The Colonel go to buy more cigarettes, the cashier asks if they go to Culver Creek and says sorry about the death. Miles is reminded of Alaska and is upset.
  • 46 Days After

    Miles says sorry to Lara again, and admits his love affair with Alaska to her. She understands and forgives him. They all end up going to the smoking pit and they each throw a cigarette in for Alaska. Miles realizes he wasn't the only person who loved Alaska
  • 51 Days After

    Mr. Hyde reminds everyone in the class that everything eventually falls apart. After his lecture, Miles understands that when her stops wishing for everything to last, he'll stop suffering.
  • 62 Days After

    When Miles uses the phone to call home, he notices white flowers and assumes Alaska drew them. He tells the Colonel that she might have drawn them while she was on the phone with Jake.
  • 69 Days After

    The Eagle announces that they are going to build a playground in memory of Alaska. Lara suggests to the group to pull an epic prank like Alaska would do.
  • 83 Days After

    The group decide to hire a male stripper and say he's a doctor to speak in front of the school as the prank
  • 84 Days After

    Mile's gets his dad in on the prank, and the weekday warriors also decide to help out.
  • 102 Days After

    The whole junior class is in on the prank and everyone donates $5 to pay for the stripper. The stripper reads his speech written by Miles, then rips off his clothing and yells "This is for Alaska!"
  • 114 Days After

    Takumi points out that Alaska died on January 10th and her mom died on January 9th.
  • 118 Days After

    The group give up on trying to figure out why Alaska died, they didn't want to look for answers they would never find.
  • 119 Days After

    Miles and the Colonel spend time talking and catching up on homework together.
  • 122 Days After

    Mr. Hyde has class outside, and Miles hands in his final assignment. He asks the students what their cause of hope is, and the Colonel says he'd prefer suffering in his labyrinth than getting out "straight and fast"
  • 136 Days After

    It is the last day of the semester and Miles still isn't done his essay for Mr. Hyde. He finds a note written by Takumi that says he saw Alaska drive off and didn't stop her. She had forgot to put flowers on her mothers grave. Miles finally writes his essay, and hopes that it is beautiful where Alaska is now.
