learning the alphabet
In Pre-K or Pre-Kindergarten, they had taught me how to say my alphabet. They would teach us the sounds they make and play the ABCs song. -
my first time writing
This was all the way in Kindergarten. I remember i was given a pencil and paper and i just scribbled all over it. I don't think i wrote a single word like i was told to. But with practice i was able to write letters or so i thought. You could barely make it out that i had written a word. -
introduction to real writing
This was when i was introduced to the real world of writing. No i could not just scribble on my paper and get away with it. From here to about second grade i was learning the basics of sentences and writing a paragraph and also writing essays. -
reading books
Now at this point, i think i was really good at writing sentences and paragraphs, but i was also starting to read books at the time too. The books i would read would have around 150-200 pages. -
advanced books
This was in the fourth grade, and i remember taking a reading test to get my reading level. I remember that i scored a S. Going to the library i saw that books at this level were about 300 pages and more. -
synthesis essay
This was second semester of eighth grade, and i was shocked when i saw the instructions. This was a different kind of essay i have not heard of. It was a synthesis essay. It was due after spring break but this was when COVID hit and school was canceled basically. I remember still doing it either way to get some practice for whats to come in the future. -
research paper
Now it is junior year of high school and i was introduced to my first research paper. This was something we did throughout almost the whole second semester. I remember getting a bad grade on it, but my teacher helped me understand why i did so bad and how i could do better. -
Comp 1 in high school
Now something i did not mention is that this is my second time taking this class. In my high school, they introduced this new class and it was like a pre-comp 1. Like a intro to comp class. In this class i took the pre-comp first semester and actual comp 1 in second semester during my senior year. It was fun and all but i guess i had too much fun because i am now back in this class.
