English isn't my first language, so when I came to the USA I had to learn English. It was the basic ABC's, they helped me learn more words and also be able to write them out. -
When I started learning English more, it allowed me to be able to identify any word and know the meaning and to also be able to use them in my writings. I practiced a lot by writing simple sentences which helped me reach my goal. -
When I advanced in English, I was able to read books and short stories in school and at home. I started with Dr. Seuss books, specifically green eggs and ham and more of his books. -
After I got better at reading, I read more books at school and home. I read books like "How To Steal A Dog," which made me get into reading more and was my favorite at the time. -
As I was learning how to write and read and I became better at it, many of my classmates and people around me thought I was uneducated and didn't really know anything. -
When I was in 6th grade, we had a book project for my ELA class and during that time I was reading "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane." I enjoyed it a lot. -
When quarantine hit, it made me love books even more and made me want to write more because of how bored I was. I didn't mind because they ended up as my hobbies. -
During my sophomore year, my English teacher assigned a lot of writing assignments which helped me get better at writing essays, short stories, and poems. She also assigned a lot of readings which I enjoyed and got to learn more things.
