Pre School
When my dad picked me up everyday from preschool he would count in Spanish. I started to catch on and eventually learned quickly how to count up to fifty on my own. -
Elementary
When I was in elementary school I would stay with my grandmother on some weekends. She moved to the United States from France when she was eighteen. She would read simple books in French that had animals and colors in them when I stayed with her. None of it really stuck with me because we didn't practice often. -
Elementary
I rented an audio book at the library to take on our family vacation in third grade. I didn't really get read to as a young child so I enjoyed this more than I expected. I didn't rent them very often though and I don't even remember what books they were. -
Middle School AOL Instant Messenger
I started chatting online with my friends on AIM during middle school. We would stay up late and I remember getting so mad when the dial up internet would get turned off from a phone call. -
Middle School Youtube
In middle school my friends and I started to use the internet more and we loved to watch people make short films. They were probably low quality but we thought they were awesome. We made our own account and started to record and upload our own videos and shows. VIDEO -
High School
I got a phone going into my freshman year of high school and started texting shortly after. My friends and I used a lot of "text talk". -
High School Drivers Ed.
When I was in the drivers education course during my sophomore year of high school we had to learn what many of the street signs meant and were tested on them. -
College
I started trying to learn some sign language after deciding on special education and being at my field experience site. I began watching YouTube videos and practicing with friends.
