    DALTHON'S ATOMIC THEORY

The British belt John Dalton developed the first atomic theory, the main points of which are: 1º All matter is made up of atoms
2º Atoms are solid and indivisible spheres
3º All atoms of the same substance have the same properties.
4º There are simple or complex atoms

    Thomson model

Thonson discovered that atoms were not indivisible as Dalton thought, but that from them we can extract very small particles with a negative charge, which he called electrons. He devised a model known as the "raisin pudding model" where the atoms are positively charged spheres where we find the electrons embedded. The sphere will let through as much positive charge as necessary.

    RUTHERFORD MODEL

Trying to demonstrate the truth of the thonson model, rutherfor devised the following experiment. He took a very very thin sheet of gold and bombarded it with particles. What was expected was that they would disperse. However, most of them crossed the sheet without deviating and only a few bounced.
