Alexander died
Alexander died because of alcoholic liver disease, fever, and strychnine poisoning. Alexander also had a fever called typhoid along with malaria which was very common in ancient Babylon. -

Constructing Lighthouse
In 280 B.C, designer Sostratus of Cnidus started to sketch how the lighthouse was going to look like and how the formation of the lighthouse was going to look like. Alexander the Great then passed away and the new ruler, Ptolemy Soter took over. Ptolemy Soter then finished the lighthouse in 250 B.C and the finishing height of the lighthouse was about 450 ft. -

Lighthouse Fully Collapsed
In 956 AD, a tiny earthquake damaged a portion of the lighthouse. Later on, in 1303 and 1323 two massive earthquakes caused the lighthouse to collapse and sink into the ocean. -

Tourist Attraction Site
Ever since the lighthouse got destroyed by the earthquake, Archaeologist Jean-Yves Empereur found hundreds of enormous masonry blocks. They used all ruins to make a seaside Citadel of Qaitbay which was created in the same place as the lighthouse. -
A Statue was Found
In 1994, French archaeologists came along the abandoned ruined lighthouse. When they were searching around they found a statue in Alexandria's Eastern Harbor. The statue was actually the bronze statue of Zeus that was at the top of the lighthouse.
